The utilization of AAC Blocks in India has
increased since last 15 years. Ultimate benefit
of AAC Blocks, it is Light in weight and fairly
energy efficient as compared to red or clay
bricks, it is manufactured by adding a foaming
agent to concrete in a mould, then wire-cutting
blocks or panels from the resulting cake cutting
made easy with steam (autoclaving). It consists
of moderate embodied energy content and execute
all the environmental benefits such as thermal,
sound protection, due to the aerated structure of
the material and its specific combination of
thermal insulation and thermal mass as compared
to normal red or clay bricks. AAC Blocks are
light in weight, does not burn, It is an
excellent fire resistant material, and it has
capability to support larger loads very easily in
any climatic situation. It is relatively very
easy to use as a building construction material
and can be cut and shaped, drill, chisel, even
with wooden tools.

joints. The easy way to cut a concrete block in a
required dimensions is to use a hammer and chisel
draw a line on the block use hammer to cut it.
By the Use of the hammer chip away the block
along the line. Be careful on applying force on
the line it will break if you apply large force
on it. Repeat the process hammering until the
block breaks in to a required shape or size.
