Mental Illness Statistics UK
  • Mental ill health is the largest cause of burden
    of disease in the UK
  • The economic costs of mental health issues in
    England have been estimated at 105 billion each
    year 
  • Half of mental ill health starts by age 15 and
    75 develops by age 18 
  • Women between the ages of 16 and 24 are almost

Perceptions of Mental Ill Health
  • Over a third of the public think people with a
    mental health issue are likely to be violent.
  • People with severe mental illness are more likely
    to be the victims, rather than the perpetrators,
    of violent crime .

Mental Ill Health in Workplace
  • 1 in 6 workers will experience depression,
    anxiety or problems relating to stress at any one
