What is IVF?IVF stands for In vitro
fertilization and it is conducted in a

through the vagina and into the ovary to collect

ultrasound imaging.Egg fertilizationThe male
partner is asked to submit his sample of sperm so
that it can be combined with the eggs. Once the
eggs are mixed with sperm then it is stored in a
laboratory for fertilization. In the laboratory,
the fertilized eggs (embryos) continue to grow
for one to five days after which it is
transferred into the uterus.Transfer of the
embryoThe best appearing embryos are then
selected for a transfer. The embryos are
transferred with the help of a catheter or small
tube through the cervix
