should be taken starting at the bottom of the
hinge. For example, seven inches from the ground
would require you measure the space between the
ground and the bottom of hinge.

Once necessary items have been selected, the next
step will be to attach the hinges to the door.
Prior to attaching the hinges on your door, you
must make sure the tension is released.

If it is not, to release the tension on the
hinges, clamp the hinge to the edge of the door
and, with a nail set or an awl placed into the
adjustment ring hole, move the ring until you are
able to remove the hole pin. This will release
the tension.

Now you are ready to install the hinges. Since
there was already a door installed previously,
this should be fairly simple. Just attach the new
hinges to the wall where the old ones were. Once
you have your door hung, you will need to check
its accuracy.

You want a door that swings both directions
effortlessly and with a comfortable resistance.
To perfect the door's swing, again using a nail
set or awl, adjust the ring to remove the locking
pin. This will allow you to alter the tension by
turning the ring.
