11 tuition
  • Never has 11 tuition been more talked about in
    the media, by government and research bodies.
    Whilst we await further details from the DfES
    about how we can help students by offering
    high-quality provision for students, we can look
    at the evidence base of tuition having a strong
    impact on learning.

Research

The Education Endowment Foundation has conducted
research over some years on the impact of 11
tuition. Their findings were that 11 tuition did
have an impact of 5 months or more over the
course of a year when delivered by a teaching
assistant.   However, what is important to note
about this research is that when a trained
teacher delivers the 11 support, the impact is
10 months.   Programmers involving teaching
assistants or volunteers can have a valuable
impact, but tend to be less effective than those
using experienced and specifically trained
teachers, which have nearly twice the effect on
average. EEF   How secure is the
evidence? Overall, the evidence is consistent
and strong, particularly for younger learners who
are behind their peers in primary schools, and
for subjects like reading and mathematics (there
are fewer studies at secondary level or for other
subjects). EEF

  • We are delighted to let all parents and schools
    know that we already provide qualified and
    experienced teachers and high-quality,
    degree-level private primary tutors to schools.
    Just this fact alone ensures that rapport is
    quickly developed, gaps are quickly identified
    and misconceptions addressed.
  • Working with schools is an option we have always
    given to the families that we work with. That is
    because we go the extra mile and also because we
    know that when the learning is joined up and the
    teacher, online tutoring, family, and student are
    aligned then much more progress can be made.
    Learning can make sense to a student and this
    makes for the best possible outcomes.

  • We work with IEPS, EHCPS, teacher targets, SENCO
    recommendations, Educational Psychology reports,
    OT reports, and more to make sure that addressing
    students needs is a priority and that
    communication between our tutors in Brighton and
    the school is as effective as possible.
  • We should all be striving for the best possible
    outcomes for students and as a company, we are
    excited about the possibility of helping schools
    to achieve this.
  • We cant wait to start teaching students in
    schools and forming collegiate relationships with
    schools in our area
