  • SleepFor our body to heal and rest, sleep is
    fundamental. Whether you take an allopathic
    medicine or a kada for cold, it wont work until
    you get proper sleep. Researches have shown that
    during the act of sleeping, our body produces
    proteins called cytokines. Cytokines are
    essential for fighting certain inflammations and
    infections.

  • Lots of liquidsStaying hydrated with lots and
    lots of liquids is essential to the functioning
    of our body. Especially when youre sick, the
    fluids you intake can help in thinning the mucus
    and as a result, making it more comfortable for
    you to drain it out of the sinuses and noses. The
    mucous membranes are also lubricated because of
    fluids, helping with the dryness.

  • Adjust sleeping positionLying horizontally is
    not fruitful when you have a cough and cold.
    Mucus keeps being at a standstill when youre
    lying horizontally which can result in cough and
    congestion. Try sleeping at a sloped angle by
    using pillows under your head. The sloped angle
    gives way to the flowing of fluids in the sinuses
    and relieves congestion.
