Only temporarily? Every moment will be lost, like
the moment of myself not wanting to let go of
memories and things I do not want to give up on.
Is the self an illusion because of the physical
details we are made of? Is the only thing which
exists matter and the rest only views and beliefs
about matter?
-Do not listen to the opinion of the many, it is
in many ways only opinion which drowns people in
self-deception. And people who talk ill of you is
not insulting at all. It is only your opinion
that these things are insulting, as Epictetus
told me.
I felt once more how simple and frugal a thing is
happiness a of wine, a roast chestnut, a
wretched littli brazier, the sou of the sea.
