ABOUT UNIVERSITY
The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University,
Anantapur (JNTUA) is a state university in Andhra
Pradesh. It is functioning since October 2nd,
1972. Moreover, it got established by an Act of
the state legislature of Andhra Pradesh in 1972.
However, it was part of Jawaharlal Nehru
Technological University, Hyderabad. Later, JNTUA
became an independent university in 2008. The

University, Anantapur Campus In 1972, Jawaharlal
Nehru Technological University JNTU, Hyderabad
was established. However, It was divided into 4
Independent universities in 2008. Evidently, that
is when jntua started functioning as an
independent university. To begin with, it started
functioning in the premises of the JNTU College
of Engineering. Earlier, the institution was
known as the College of Engineering Anantapur. At
present, it is an independent university located
on 195 acres of land. The jntua address is Sir
Mokshagundan Visvesvaraya Road, Sharada Nagar,
Andhra Pradesh- 515002. Moreover, it is just
2.22km from the Anantapur railway
station. Jawaharlal Nehru Technological
University, Anantapur Constituent and Affiliated
colleges The constituent college of JNTUA
includes JNTUA- Ananthapura, JNTUA-Pulivendula,
JNTUA- Kalikiri, JNTUA-(OTPRI)- Ananthapuramu.
Additionally, the JNTUA has 98 Engineering
colleges, 33 Pharmacy colleges, and about 29
stand-alone MBA/MCA colleges affiliated with it.

College Of Engeneering However, the University
College of Engineering, Adikavi Nannaya
University, Rajahmahendravaram was founded with
the objective of serving the academic
requirements of Godavari District students in the
boundaries of Technical Education. In addition,
since its founding, the College of Engineering
has been on a dynamic path of development and
expansion. Moreover, the College strives to
promote comprehensive student development via the
use of cutting-edge technology. However, the
courses are designed with the ever-changing
demands of the business in mind. Moreover,
hands-on experience and practical understanding
of the disciplines are prioritised to facilitate

Education In addition, Adikavi Nannaya
University's University College of Education,
established in 2014, is recognised by the
National Council for Teacher Education,
Bangalore, and has an annual intake of 100
students. Additionally, according to NCTE's
revised standards, the yearly intake is now 50.

Education Common Entrance Test (APEDCET), which
is administered by the government of Andhra

HISTORY
To begin with, the university started functioning
in Madras in 1946. First, jntua was affiliated
with the Madras University from 1946-1955.
Further, it was affiliated with Sri Venkateswara
University from 1955-1972. Later, it started
functioning in Anantapur in 1948. However, it was
functioning as JNTU, Hyderabad. However, in 2008,
AP Legislature Act was enacted. Then, JNTU was
divided into three independent universities.
Namely- JNTU Anantapur, JNTU Kakinada, and JNTU
Hyderabad. At the same time, jntua took into its
fold 4 constituent colleges. At present, there
are about 98 engineering colleges, 29 MBA/ MCA
colleges, and 33 Pharmacy colleges affiliated
with it.

INFRASTRUCTURE
The jawaharlal nehru technological university
anantpur provides a great learning experience to
its students. Additionally, jntua infrastructure
will ensure that the student experience is better
as well. Now, read below to know more about the
Infrastructure at the jntua Library First of
all, jntua library has 85790 books. Further, it
homes back volumes of national and international
journals, technical pamphlets, and others.
Furthermore, you have CD-ROMs, Video Cassettes,
etc. Apart from this, there are about
3389E-Journals, 15211 Reference books, and 22704
titles for use in the library. Above all, there
is an effective library application software that
lists the books and journals available called
KOHA, a Wi-Fi facility. Moreover, you also have a
Xerox facility at the university book bank. It
would be beneficial for the poor students in the
University.

INFRASTRUCTURE
Hostel There are separate hostels for boys and
girls. The number of beds in the boys' hostel is
about 1212. Likewise, there are 720 beds in the
girls' hostel. The hostel has a good ambiance and
is safe for the students. Computer Centre and
Laboratories JNTUA strives to provide excellent
resources to its students. It has computer labs
that have high configuration computers. Likewise,
you have separate labs for various streams of
engineering and science. Also, it has all the
equipments.

INFRASTRUCTURE
Sports Complex You have separate cricket ground,
hockey ground as well as football ground within
the campus. In addition to that, there are
several sports facilities. Namely- Table tennis
court, Throw ball court, Tennicoit court, Shuttle
court, Volleyball court, etc. Apart from the
above-mentioned facilities, jntua also provides
several other facilities namely- Gym facilities,
Hospital and Medical facilities, Post office,
Bank, Auditorium and Seminar Hall.

COURSES OFFERED
Bachelors Firstly, the university offers a BTech
degree in several streams of engineering
namely, aeronautical, civil, mechanical,
information technology, computer and systems,
chemical, electronics and electrical,
biotechnology, thermal engineering, power
electronics, refrigeration, and air-conditioning.
Also, you can access B.Pharma courses of high
standards here. Above all, you will also be able
to get admission into integrated courses which
include both bachelor's and master's degrees in
science and technology. However, the B.Tech
course is 4 years while the integrated course
duration is 5 years. Masters Later on, you can
access M.Tech, in various streams of engineering
mentioned above. However, the course duration is
2 years. Also, they offer MBA and MCA that are of
high standards. Additionally, you can access the
M. Pharma course here . M.Phil./Ph.D. Lastly,
jntua also offers doctoral programs in different
streams of engineering.
