Handwoven Fabrics

We Explore 10 Such Patterns And Designs Which Are
Popular And Well Recognized
  • 1. CHAMBRAYChambray is a cotton plain-weave
fabric made with a dyed warp yarn and a white
filling yarn. While it may look like denim,
chambray is lighter and is woven differently.

2. STRIPESStripe pattern refers to bands,
strips or lines of different colours, evenly or
unevenly spaced, appearing on the surface of the
fabric. Striped cloth is usually warp-faced cloth
but can be weft-faced too. Depending on the
thickness of the band or gap, their arrangement
etc, the stripes pattern can be of several
types--Pinstripe-Bengal Stripe-Barcode

3. CHECKS/PLAID
  • - The terms plaid and check are used
interchangeably, but these are two totally
    different types of surface patterns.
  • - The term plaid refers to patterns inspired by
Scottish tartan plaids. Check patterns are much
simpler than plaids.  Checks are always
symmetrical, consisting of crossed horizontal and
vertical lines that form equally sized tiles.
