WHAT IS INDIVIDUAL THERAPY?
Individual therapy and counseling occurs in
sessions between an individual patient and a
therapist. Universally, this treatment exists to
help patients deal with issues which may be
bothering them in their life. These issues can
include but are certainly not limited to,
alcoholism, addiction, the death of a loved one,
unhealthy coping mechanisms, and more. On
the surface, individual counseling and therapy is
relatively simple. In real life, it's subject to
a multitude of factors and situations which can
impact its outcome. However, despite the
variables, there are certain parallels and
commonalities which exist across the board. These
similarities are what makes this treatment
strategy and process so great and rehabilitative
for people from all walks of life, regardless of
issues which they may be facing or struggling
with.

    setting. Goals will vary from client to client,
    and your therapist will collaborate with you to
    determine the best treatment to help you reach
    those goals. Goal setting in therapy not only
    gives you focus, it also helps your therapist
    understand the specific changes you are hoping to
    realize during the course of therapy.
