Title: Important Points to Know Before Choosing IVF

1
Important Points to Know Before Choosing IVF
2
  • When a couple decides to undergo IVF (in vitro
fertilization), the next concern is the IVF
success rate and deciding when to start IVF
    treatment.
  • As we all know, IVF has limitations and the
outcome is affected by various factors.
  • Some are under our control, and some are not.

3
Understand The IVF Success Rate
  • The success rate of IVF cycle is determined by
the quality of the egg and sperm.
  • A woman's age has the greatest influence on egg
    quality.
  • The chance of having aneuploid/abnormal eggs
increases with age, especially in the late
    thirties.
  • ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) can solve
    most sperm-related problems, however,
significantly abnormal sperm patterns can result
in poor-quality embryos, reducing the success
    rate of IVF.
  • Equally important is the number of eggs.
  • According to studies, the number of eggs
retrieved up to approximately 15 eggs promotes
    the success of IVF.

4
Reasons for having repeated IVF Failure
  • Implantation failure may also contribute to
    10-15 of IVF failures.
  • Factors include fibroids, particularly submucous
and large intramural fibroids, adhesions within
    the uterine cavity, adenomyosis, abnormally
    swollen tubes (hydrosalpinx), endometrial polyps,
and uterine anomalies such as the septate uterus.
  • Few of them can have immunological dysregulation
of the NK cells, resulting in embryo rejection.

5
  • Choosing the best IVF stimulation protocol is
    important.
  • As mentioned earlier, egg count is important.
  • Patients are classified as hyper responders, norm
responders, or poor responders based on their
    ovarian reserve tests.
  • Adequate doses of gonadotrophins help the patient
obtain an adequate number of eggs (8-15) without
putting her at undue risk of ovarian
    hyperstimulation syndrome.
  • The majority of them fit into short protocols
that last 10-12 days, while long protocols are
reserved for conditions such as endometriosis or
    adenomyosis.

6
  • The culture conditions provided in the IVF
laboratory are the most important factor for the
    success of IVF (in-vitro fertilization).
  • A clean room with ideal levels of volatile
organic compounds and particulate matter is
    essential.
  • A strict quality assurance process is required.
  • The success of an IVF program is greatly
influenced by incubator efficiency and culture
conditions, as well as the experience of the
    embryologist.

Frequently Asked Questions (IVF Faqs)
  • What factors should I consider when selecting the
    best IVF center?
  • We have seen that patients choose an IVF center
only based on its proximity and cost of
    treatment.
  • While proximity is important, the price may not
be a true indicator of whether a clinic is good
    or bad.
  • Always get a few clinic references before
choosing one, book free online consultation with
each clinic you've shortlisted, and then pick the
clinic you feel most comfortable with.
  • Even though one might cost a little less than the
other, multiple failed cycles at the wrong clinic
could prevent you from conceiving sooner, costing
you more money overall. which could result in a
    much more expensive activity.

8
Why is there so much cost difference between IVF
centers in pune?
  • The prices of two IVF clinics can differ
significantly from each other due to the
    following reasons
  • The medication and injections used for treatment
have a significant impact on costs.
  • Doctors may choose a more expensive injection
over a more effective lower-cost injection
because they do not know how to use it.
  • Clinics may have ties with some medication
companies and may promote expensive medication to
    patients to earn a commission.
  • Another important consideration is the
    cost-effectiveness of the clinic.
  • Clinics that cannot reduce their overhead costs
must ultimately pass the cost burden on to their
    patients.

9
  • As a result, the cost of the process may be
    higher than the market average.
