Tag Heuer Monaco Calibre 12
My first luxury watch was the Tag Heuer Monaco
Calibre 12 Blue Dial CAW2111.FC6183 'McQueen'.
What a beauty it is and I still remember the day
I bought it and the excitement I had being able
to add an automatic chronograph to my then modest
watch collection. With its unmistakable square
dial it is both unique and guaranteed to turn
heads. It is the kind of watch that gets people
talking to you, I've had a few over the years
comment and chat to me about watches in
airports. The Monaco was first immortalised by
Steve McQueen, the 'King of Cool', in the 1970
movie Le Mans and has been revered and desired
ever since. Featuring a 39mm steel case, vibrant
blue dial with two register chronograph, a 6
o'clock date window and is powered by the Calibre
12 self winding automatic movement. Completing
the watch is a blue aligator strap with a
polished stainless steel clasp, it's easy to get
on and off and fits perfectly thanks to the
adjustment of the clasp.

No longer in production, this watch takes price
and place in my collection and when not worn
lives in my automatic winder keeping it on
