Title: The History of Travois Vans

1
The History Of Travois Vans
Travois vans are two-wheeled carts used to carry
loads, and they have played a crucial role in the
mobility and survival of these societies. The
word "travois" is derived from the French word
"travail," meaning "work." Travois vans were
initially developed by indigenous peoples of
North America, such as the Plains Indians and
Native American tribes, well before the arrival
of European settlers. A typical travois consists
of two long poles, often made from wooden
saplings, and a frame to carry the load. There
are two primary types of travois vans the drag
sled and the frame travois. Travois vans held
immense cultural significance for indigenous
societies. Travois vans were mainly pulled by
dogs in many cultures, such as those of the
Plains Indians, who bred dogs for this specific
purpose.
