TextJohn 45-15

• So He came to a city of Samaria which is called
  Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob gave
  to his son Joseph. 6 Now Jacobs well was there.
  Jesus therefore, being wearied from His journey,
  sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth
  hour. 7 A woman of Samaria came to draw water.
  Jesus said to her, Give Me a drink. 8 For His
  disciples had gone away into the city to buy
  food. 9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him,
  How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink
  from me, a Samaritan woman? For Jews have no
  dealings with Samaritans. 10 Jesus answered and
  said to her, If you knew the gift of God, and
  who it is who says to you, Give Me a drink, you
  would have asked Him, and He would have given you
  living water.

• 11 The woman said to Him, Sir, You have nothing
  to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do
  You get that living water? 12 Are You greater
  than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and
  drank from it himself, as well as his sons and
  his livestock? 13 Jesus answered and said to
  her, Whoever drinks of this water will thirst
  again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I
  shall give him will never thirst. But the water
  that I shall give him will become in him a
  fountain of water springing up into everlasting
  life. 15 The woman said to Him, Sir, give me
  this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here
  to draw.

• In the old times, water was drawn from wells
• People satisfy their thirst today often by going
  to bad wells
• Wells of popularity, fun games, drugs, alcohol
• Real thirst quenching comes from one well Jesus
  has this water

• In John 45-15, A Samaritan woman meets a seeking
  savior
• Jesus could have traveled the common route from
  Judea to Galilee
• Jesus came seeking water at Jacobs well when he
  met a sinful Samaritan woman
• When Jesus told her of her sinful condition, she
  listened
• Jesus asked for water from the well but offered
  Living Water to the woman
• Sir, give me this water

• What did the Living Water contain?
• It contained forgiveness, redemption, salvation,
  eternal life
• It had the ingredients to make her a New Creature
• It contained hope, joy, peace, love, eternal
  life

• A deep well of prayer
• A well containing the Bread of Life
• A wider well of service
• Isaiah 322

• A man will be as a hiding place from the wind,
        And a cover from the tempest,       As
  rivers of water in a dry place,       As the
  shadow of a great rock in a weary land.

• What wells do we need to dig today?
• A deep well of prayer
• A well containing the Bread of Life
• A wider well of service
• Isaiah 322

• Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a
  stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did
  not minister to You?
• We can be a river of water in a dry place

• An important question to ask ourselves is Have I
  drank the Living Water?
• Do you have a well of water in you springing up?
• Are you still thirsty?
• Are you broken in character has Jesus found
  you?
• If you died today, would you spend eternity with
  Jesus?

• It is a beautiful story in John 4 that tells how
  a sinful, Samaritan woman found the Living Water.
  She later told others of her find.
• We all should be a forgiven person headed toward
  our eternal home with Jesus
• Please make your determination today
