Kings County
(Population Change)
CAUTION Kings County data, the only data
available, may not accurately portray changes in
the Enterprise Fundy region. Kings Countys
growth is likely occurring near Saint John and
not in most of the rural parts of the county.
For the county as a whole, population growth is
slowing as falling births and rising deaths have
resulted in a smaller natural increase. This is
coupled with a net out-migration that turned from
positive to neutral.

Westmorland County
(Population Change)
CAUTION Westmorland County data, the only data
available, may not accurately portray changes in
the Enterprise Fundy region. Westmorland
Countys growth is likely occurring near Moncton
and not in most of the rural parts of the county.
For the county as a whole, the population is
growing despite falling births and rising deaths.
This has resulted in zero natural increases
because net in-migration, largely from other
parts of N.B., continues to sustain growth.

An establishment operating in more than one
province is classed to a size according to its
employment total for Canada, not for an area in a
specific province. Thus the 2 establishments
classed as 500 in this chart really means there
are 2 establishments operating in this region of
New Brunswick whose Canadian employment is 500
even if some of them may employ fewer than 500 in
this Enterprise region.

Social Assistance
Social Assistance The Department of Family and
Community Services (FCS) has eight regional
offices. Social assistance information is
collected and maintained with respect to these
regions. Enterprise Fundy falls partly within the
region serviced by the Southeast (Moncton) FCS
regional office and the Southwest (Saint John)
FCS office. However, because these two regions
include two highly populated urban centers with
higher case loads, the information from these two
FCS regions is not relevant to the mostly rural
Fundy CEDA region and therefore no data on Social
Assistance recipients is presented in this
report.
The Southeast FCS region is comprised mainly of
the counties of Westmorland, Kent and Albert.
Only part of Enterprise Fundy is included in this
area. The Southwest FCS region is comprised of
Kings County, Saint John County and Charlotte
County. Only part of Enterprise Fundy is included
in this area (Family and Community Services NB).
