2 . HS Project Status

• The project is well under way, and is expected to
  follow the project timeline presented.
• Release 1 will be ready by medio 2005
• Release 1 will contain adequate functionality to
  supply the HELCOM Secretary with necessary naval
  traffic reports for the Baltic Sea.
• The GIS functionality and navigational patterns
  might be included in release 1 if resources and
  time allows for it, otherwise they will be
  included in release 2.

3. HS Technical issues 1

• Exchanging AIS-data
• HS will be able to connect to national servers
  (by 01-09-2004) using SSL or Socket, if VPN is
  used Socket is adequate. Data received must be in
  the IEC format.
• HELCOM countries will connect to the HS using SSL
  or Socket. If VPN is used, Socket is adequate.
  Data received will be in the IEC format. Data
  will be filtered for doublets only.
• HELCOM countries should apply the Swedish
  filter for redistribution of data and filtering
  domesticly.

• Exchanging AIS-data continued
• All HELCOM members must supply server
  connect-info to the Danish Delegation(
  Ip-address, port number, username/password if
  necessary to access data and a technical contact)
• Technical problems relating to exchange of data
  can be addressed by approaching the Danish
  technical contact.

4. Clarification on report content

• The content in the statistical reports submitted
  to the HELCOM Secretary
• Number and composition of ships passing passage
  lines.
• A suggestion on report content is to be found in
  Document no.5/rev.2 AIS EWG 2/2002 attachment B.
• A general discussion on the content is welcome,
  and any changes to the suggested should be
  settled within a short timeframe due to the
  project timeline.
