Definition

• Part of a literary work that introduces the
  characters, setting, and basic situation
• Foreshadowing and flashbacks often occur here

• The events that lead up to the climax

• The point of greatest emotional intensity,
  interest, or suspense in a narrative
• Marks a storys turning point

Falling Action

• All the events after the climax

• Part of the work in which all the conflicts are
  resolved or unraveled
