What is Mole Day?
  • Celebrated annually on October 23rd from 602 AM
    until 602 PM, Mole Day commemorated Avogadros
    Number (6.022 x 1023), which is a basic measuring
    unit in chemistry.

How much IS a mole?
  • A mole of water (H20) is 18 grams of water
  • A mole of copper (Cu) is 63.5g of copper
  • A mole of table salt (NaCl) is approximately
    58.5g of salt

Why celebrate Mole Day?
  • Mole day is celebrated as a way to foster
    interest in chemistry in schools throughout the
    United States and around the world.

How did EWHS celebrate Mole Day?
  • East Windsor High School chemistry students
    celebrated Mole Day by designing and creating
    stuffed moles!
