population is over 1.5 billion. Has the largest
workforce in the world. Massive military power
which has nuclear and conventional weapons. China
has an economic value of 1.2 trillion. China has
a huge amount of natural resources for example
coal and petrol.

3One State Party
- The CPC became the ruling party in 1949 after a
democratic revolution. - The Chinese Constitution allows a one party state
which means the CPC is the only party and
opposition is illegal. - Over the years the CPC has removed all
opposition and any criticism or demand for
political reform is seen as counter
revolutionary and is brutally crushed.
4Communism
- China is the largest remaining communism country.
It has been since 1949, by the communist party of
china (CPC)They have controlled the country and
been the government ever since. - Communist was set up by the ideology that wealth
should be evenly distributed amongst society, so
everyone becomes successful and all equal.

5Reasons That China Is A Democratic Country.
- China now has a market economy. This means that
you can start your own business and keep any
profit you make. - There are 9 political parties that you can
legally become a member of. - It is possible for you to stand as a candidate at
local level elections. - There is now also some privately owned media
which means the government has been criticised. - You are also able to hold protests.
- Currently there is only one communist district in
China left.

6Reasons it isnt a Democratic country.
- China is a one party state which means that the
CPC is the only party with no real opposition. - There are no central government elections and the
candidates standing at local level must be CPC
approved. - Media is strictly controlled so any media showing
China in a bad light would be shut down. - There is no freedom of speech in China.
- Only 5 religions are legal in China. Illegal ones
include Falun Gong. - Without a permit protesting is illegal and will
be brutally crushed.

still under the leadership of a communist party.

can see that it has possibilities of a capitalist
future, though under the current government this
is unlikely.
