How the interview has evolved
  • 2002

  • EA applicants only
  • 13 US Cities

DU Ammi Hyde Interview logistics
  • 2 dedicated staff members
  • One full time position
  • One 9 month position
  • 150 faculty and staff member volunteers
  • 250 alumni volunteers
  • Full admission staff

The Ammi Hyde Interview
  • Is held at area hotels with meeting facilities
    through out the US
  • Is a formal interview process that combines a
    both a situational and a behavioral interview.
  • University faculty and staff volunteers are flown
    in to the 30 locations to assist the admission
    staff with the interviews
  • Area alumni volunteers are enlisted to team up
    with the University members to provide an
    interview team of 2 -3 people
  • A DU volunteer will serve as the Team Leader and
    have the final decision in an interview evaluation

  • Help students relax so they can best represent
    their opinion and experiences
  • Interview effectively, so the student understands
    the questions and are given the opportunity to
    explore them in their own words

  • 43 of the applications completed an Ammi Hyde
    interview
  • Students who complete an interview yield at a
    higher rate
  • 75 of the fall 2008 first year class completed
    an interview.
