qualities, their wisdom and their use to human
beings.

many different sources.

In India many of the animals are regarded as the
vahanas (vehicles) of different deities.

  Seasonal) to the rural population

• Rural masses have Lack of Knowledge on proper

Functional Flow
Animator surveys the animals in the village
identifies the problems/ diseases affecting the
Livestock (Or) Villagers inform the
Animator of problems/ diseases affecting the
Livestock
Animator does the preliminary investigation of
the condition of the animal and provides basic
service and inform the Community Organizer
The Community Organizer diagnoses the problem and
provides treatment
Based on the severity of the condition/
emergency, the Community Organizer takes the help
of Govt Veterinarians in treatment
Animator regularly monitors the condition of the
Village animals and involves in creating
awareness amongst the people regarding seasonal/
general healthcare of animals and also
propagates the need for Animal Insurance
Community Based Organization acts as a Monitoring
agency at the Village level

• Animator Who is one of the Community Volunteer
• Monitors the animals in the village at regular
  intervals
• Makes note of complaints received from the
  community regarding problems faced by any
  animal(s)
• All identified problems will be checked for
  symptoms (as he is a trained person)
• Informs the Community Organizer
• Incharge of post-treatment care to the animals
• Works in the interest of the Village animals

• Community Organizer Who is employed by Cause an
  Effect
• He is a trained resource in Animal Health care
• He is incharge of supervising animal health care
  of animals in couple of identified villages
• On receiving complaints from the Animator, he
  checks the condition of the animal and identifies
  / diagnoses the problem
• He administers treatment to the animals based on
  the condition
• Refers complicated cases to Govt Vetenary clinics

• Community Based Organization Is a Village level
  Organization
• They act as a monitoring agency for the Animator
  as well as the Village Animals
• They act as a channel between the Animal owners
  and the Community Organizer in the absence of the
  Animator

• Conduct baseline surveys to get the livestock and
  animal health situation in the identified area
• Build Rapport with the Local community

• Organize a village level community workshop on

• To discuss Community Based Animal Health Care
  concept where the roles of the participants are
  defined (CBO, Animator and Community Organizer)
