digitizing of land information, i.e. Maps and
Land Books - Most countries in Celk region have spent several
years to convert just a few percent of this
information - Most countries are facing 10-20 years of data
conversion activities to reach a complete digital
management of cadastre data - Just a few countries have implemented a spatial
database covering also (geo)graphical information

- New surveys, air based or land based
- Scanning of old paper maps
- Digitizing old land books and registers
- Standard approach to give local surveyors and
data conversion companies the task, with limited
resources and tools - Technology transfer programs could be one
solution to speed up the process
