    market.
  • We currently have over 5000 students doing Vet in
    Schools in about 6000 certificates.
  • Our VET-in-Schools Program has been recognised by
    D.E.T. as Good Practice
  • We are a private Registered Training Organisation
    (RTO).

What is VET in Schools ?
  • Programs undertaken by students as part of the
    WACE
  • Provides either a part or a full nationally
    recognised certificate
  • Same qualification as TAFE
  • Completed at School
  • The training that students receive reflects
    specific industry competency standards
  • Skills are wanted by employers

4
VET in schools cont
  • Delivered by an RTO or by a school in partnership
with an RTO (like your school)
  • TAFE is a government RTO, National Corporate
Training Pty Ltd is a private RTO
  • RTOs monitor the achievements of students against
the competency standards outlined by the
    Australian Qualifications Framework

    environment

    training options
  • Clearer articulation into further VET after you
    leave school

Pathways post school
  • VET will help get that job you need to
    survive at University!
  • VET can count as a C towards secondary
    graduation!
  • VET will give you points towards TAFE
entrance. This will put you ahead of students
who did straight university entrance courses!
  • VET puts you one rung up the ladder at TAFE
with credits and may shorten your course!
  • VET can lead to new career opportunities!
  • VET will help move you towards the front of the
    employment queue!
  • VET units can sometimes be used in more than
    one certificate! (Credit Transfer)
  • VET can be studied with NCT while you are
    working!
