Grading at SMU
  • SMU is an elite, private university creating
    well-rounded engineering and technology leaders.
  • We are aware that for many students employer
reimbursement is contingent upon a B or better
grade, but this cannot and will not effect SMU
    grading.
  • Maintaining high standards helps ensure the
long-term value of your SMU degree.

10
Homework
  • Usually one problems set due every week
  • One week later for distance students
  • Late homework receives a grade of zero
  • Assignments available on Blackboard
  • Plan to spend at least 10 hours per week on home
work, reading assignments, and studying for exams

11
Submitting Homework
  • Submit via Blackboard
  • Only send one file per assignment
  • A zip or tar file containing multiple files is
    NOT acceptable
  • Format the document so that your name and the
assignment number are on every page
  • Set the margins so it will print properly

12

  • Two Miderms
  • First midterm September 21
  • Second midterm October 26
  • Distance Students

    the exam
