- What is PowerTime?
- Power Time is a web-based electronic time keeping
system that also records and stores employee
leave history. - Who uses PowerTime?
- All Part-time Wage Employees, Student Assistants
(Tutors) ,Work-Study Students and - All Full-time Non-exempt Classified Employees
- Employees Can
- Record Hours Worked and Leave Taken
- Post Comments for review by Your Supervisor
- Electronically Sign your Timesheet
- Print Your Timesheet, and
- View Previous Timesheets
- Supervisors are able to
- Review and Approve Employee Timesheets
- Send messages to their Employees, either
Individually or as a Group - Run specific reports on Employee
GroupsPowerTime Tip Employees must SAVE, then
SIGN timesheets - Supervisors dont SIGN, they APPROVE
2 Accessing Power Time
- To access Power Time, open your
internet browser and go to - http//www.focus-servers.com/PowerTime
- You will see the screen as it appears below.
Before Logging In, save the Log In Screen to your
Desktop - Right-click on the Login Screen
- Choose Create Shortcut
- Click Yes to place a Shortcut on Desktop
- The next time you need to log in to Power Time
you can double-click on the Icon on your Desktop
no need to remember the web address.
What You Will Need Before You Log In You
will need to have your eleven digit COV Employee
ID Number. Human Resources will e-mail your COV
number to your supervisor. You will need to
know that the Company ID for SVCC is 1020.
What You will NOT Need Before You Log In You
will not need any software loaded onto your
computer. PowerTime is web-based and Employees
will have access through the Internet.
3- Logging In
- On the PowerTime Login screen enter
- SVCCs Company ID 1020
- Your Username Your COV Employee ID Number
IMPORTANT Enter all eleven digits - The Current Default Password password1

For Employees with Multiple Jobs and Multiple
Employee Types NOTE Some employees work in
more than one job and therefore have more than
one employee type. These employees will have
multiple COV IDs. Examples Wage and Student
Assistant Work-Study and Wage Student Assistant
and Work-Study If you have multiple employee
types, be sure to log on using the correct COV ID
number. Contact Janet Lenhart at 1016 if you
are unsure of your correct COV ID number.
4- Once You Log In You Will See the Timesheet View
- NOTE Full time employees will see only one
week/one tab on the timesheet view. Wage, Work
Study and Student Assistants will see two
weeks/two tabs on the timesheet view. On the
Timesheet View Employees Can - Part-time employees enter Hours Worked
- Full-time employees enter Hours Worked and Leave
Taken and Type of Leave Taken - Employees can View a Summary of Pay Codes
Available to be Used - Employees can also View and Reply to Messages
from their Supervisor, Browse their Timesheet
History, and Electronically Sign their
Timesheet After Your First
Log-in - The Default Password should be changed to a
unique password selected by you. Your USERNAME
will remain your COV Employee ID number all
eleven digits. - EXAMPLE 00222333300
- Employees will not be able to change their
Username.
5- Entering Hours Worked or Leave Taken
- In Power Time, entering your time worked or leave
taken is referred to as creating a CHARGE. The
Charge Selector (Drop Down Box) is used to add
time worked or leave taken to your Timesheet. - To add a New Charge
- Select Add a New Charge from the Drop Down Box
Then Choose Your Department - This selection will create a second Drop Down Box
from which you can search for a charge. - Click Search for Charge to
- Select either a pay type or a leave type,
whichever is applicable. - Selecting a charge creates a line on the
timesheet in which to enter hours. Each
selection creates another line to enter hours
worked or leave taken. To add additional types
of leave or to select another department if you
work in multiple departments, repeat the search
for charge feature. To Complete the process you
will then - Type in hours worked or leave taken by clicking
on the cell under the appropriate day and in the
line for the applicable charge (hours worked or
leave taken). - Click SAVE to record hours/leave then
- Click SIGN TIMESHEETIMPORTANT If you SIGN
before you SAVE your data will be lost. To Log
Off Simply Click the Log Off Tab - Your supervisor will not be able to approve your
timesheet until you have signed it. - Dont leave the boss waiting on you!

6- Sending Messages To Send a Message to your
Supervisor - Click on the date In the example below, you
would click on the text Fri 5/2
- You will be directed to a new screen
- Click in the comments box and type your message
to your supervisor - Click SAVE COMMENT
- PowerTime Tip Pop up Blocker will prevent you
being able to access the message feature. You
must disable your pop-up blocker in order to
create messages.
7On the Personal Tab
- Employees can
- Choose Your Startup Preferences
- Set Favorite Charges
- Change Your Password
Note Personal Settings and Misc. Data Fields are
protected fields and cannot be changed by the
Employee. SVCC will not use the Shift Shortcut
feature. Entering data in these fields in not
