What is TMFP?
  • The Technology Mentor Fellowship Program (TMFP)
    is intended to match technology-proficient
    pre-service teachers with K-12 teachers and
    university faculty to model technology as an
    instructional tool in K-12 and college classrooms.

Requirements
  • All Technology Fellows must
  • be pre-service teacher education students in good
    standing at Texas AM.
  • have the ability to use a computer and computer
    applications to complete educationally related
    tasks utilizing word processors, spreadsheets,
    presentation programs, and the Internet.

Responsibilities
  • Responsibilities will include
  • the initial Technology Intensive Session to be
    held on Friday 14 January 2000 from 9 a.m. to 4
    p.m. in 210 of the Student Computing Center.
  • attending several just-in-time Technology
    Intensive Sessions during the 2000 Spring
    semester.
  • periodic travel to an Independent School District
    during the 2000 Spring semester to work with
    teachers on integrating technology applications
    into their classroom instruction.

Benefits
  • Benefits will include
  • remuneration (7.00/hr) and travel expenses for
    all approved activities, including the
    Orientation Session and all Technology Intensive
    Sessions.
  • participation in the Technology Intensives which
    include hands-on training in Web development and
    using instructional tools like the award-winning
    TrackStar.
  • pedagogical and technical support from Texas AM
    faculty and staff.
  • real-time professional development experiences in
    an authentic educational setting.
