- The current objectives of theCommittee on the
Advancement of Women Chemists are to - Assist academic women chemists to achieve their
professional teaching research goals. - Provide training workshops and networking forums
to enhance the careers of women. - Research factors that may contribute to the low
numbers of women in the field. - Develop model programs that can be used more
broadly across the sciences.
3COACh Workshops
- COACh workshops are designed to develop
professional skills for career enhancement. Two
types of workshops are currently offered - Negotiation training in successful negotiating
strategies for use in leading or participating in
discussions and meetings - Leadership training in leadership roles and
self-assessment of leadership style, with a
perspective on genders role in leadership.
4COACh Works Testimonials
- The workshop helped me to define what problems I
have with negotiating. Now I can improve them
with the skills I learned. -
- I got a lot of value out of getting to know my
female colleagues and sharing our real
situations. -
- The sessions were incredibly instructive no
fluff. -
- The workshop facilitators experiences in higher
education settings were helpful contributions to
the group discussions. -
- It was an amazing experience to work with so
many smart women to effectively problem-solve
difficult situations weve encountered with
negotiation in our workplaces.
