Requirements
- Fulfill the minimum A - G course requirements,
CSU uses 10-11 GPA in a g courses for
admission - Submit the ACT or SAT Reasoning
- (CSU does not require the score from the Writing
section of the SAT or ACT. They only use the
Math and Critical Reading sections for admissions
purposes.) - Admissions is determined by eligibility index
SAT (CR M) (800 x GPA) 2900 or above

Requirements

Requirements
- Admission requirements vary by institution, but
most follow similar UC/CSU guidelines in terms of
subject requirements and test requirements - Students should check with individual campuses
admissions offices or visit their websites to
determine current admission requirements - Often use committee type admission process
- Student applicants are reviewed in the context of
their entire application. Extracurricular
activities, leadership opportunities and
community service play a significant role.

13When should my student take the SAT/ACT?
- SAT/ACT The best time to take any test is
when the student is academically ready to do so.
- To determine your students optimum test time,
consider the following - S/he should have recently finished English 11 or
AP English Language. - S/he should have finished at least Algebra II.
- In order to be adequately prepared to apply to
colleges in 12thgrade, we recommend that students
test at least once (SAT and/or ACT) in the 11th
grade. By doing so, students have at least one
more opportunity to re-test in 12th grade. - SAT SUBJECT TESTS Take the subject test as soon
as possible after completing the corresponding
course
14Community College Admission
- No specific course requirements must be met prior
to entrance. - SAT/ACT tests are not required.
- Students may participate in guaranteed transfer
programs - Any student may enroll at a community college if
they - Are 18 years of age
- Earned a high school diploma OR Earned the
equivalency of a high school diploma (GED or
passed the CHSPE)

in using your students ID number with the letter
P at the end (i.e. 123456p) and click register.
If you already have an account, log in here.
Keep your email CURRENT. If you forgot your
access information, contact Darlene Burton in the
Career Center.
18On the CCA transcript, you will find three types
of GPA, which are calculated by dividing the sum
of the course grade points earned by the number
of courses taken. Acad. GPA 9-12 Includes
every course taken in grades 9-12, except PE and
TA. Acad. GPA 10-12 Includes every course taken
in grades 10 -12 except PE and TA. Total GPA 9
-12 Includes every course taken in grades 9-12.
Note Each college determines which GPA to use
for admission and it is the students
responsibility to use the correct GPA. The GPA
shown in Naviance is your students Acad. 9-12
GPA.
19Off-Campus Courses
- If your student decides to take an off-campus
course, and wants the - course to appear on the CCA transcript, s/he must
follow all of the steps - below
- Speak with their alpha- counselor.
- Submit an OFF-CAMPUS PERMISSION FORM.
- When s/he is finished with the course, it is
their responsibility to have an official
transcript sent directly to the registrar at CCA.
- Students can apply a maximum of 30 credits of
off-campus coursework to their high school
transcript.
