Current State Future State GAP Challenges
Our customer database is on obsolete mainframe DB and only accessible at corporate headquarters. Our customer database is on Oracle DB accessible via network from all locations. Migration will require designing new DB, porting data from old DB to new DB, application changes, and training.
Our customers must come into a store to shop. Our customers can shop at home over the internet or via wireless PDAs and cell phones. Migration will developing user interfaces for our new product delivery channels. Challenge is how to manage three-fold increase in maintenance to support three different devices.
