• EksArk UiB EksamensArkiv, University Exams
  Archive or the University of Bergen ETD archive
• EksArk is an archive in the original sense of the
  word
• its owner is the Record Office at UiB the
  library runs it administrative staff submit
  material
• EksArk is based on DSpace
• Eksark has currently 2172 items

Why is EksArk a closed system?

• 2 types of records Master theses and PhDs
• No mix of fulltext and non-fulltext in our
  Instutional Repository (BORA)
• Anyone on UiB campus can search and get a hit
  list
• Anyone can place a request
• the Record Office decides who can access

Who can access EksArk?

Some necessary modifications of DSpace

• Batch import of some 2000 items from an old
  database
• New fields
• degree (pull down list)
• course (code of the course is 6 or 7 digits)
• Degree and course fields are required.
• Archive Code (or Archive Key Norwegian
  requirement from the Public Records)
• Modified fields
• Language (pulldown list only the languages of
  the Univ. and 2 different Norwegians)
• Specific license

Conditions for archiving

• This work is archived under the following
  conditions
• 1. The UiB Eksamensarkiv is an electronic archive
  for student theses taken at
• the University of Bergen.
• 2. The UiB Eksamensarkiv is administered by the
  University Library.
• 3. Student theses archived electronically in the
  UiB Eksamensarkiv are not
• available to the general public.
• 4. Faculties and institutes have access to their
  own material.
• 5. Individuals can be given access to a single
  thesis this can be given by
• requesting this from the faculty libraries.
• 6. Making full or partial printouts of the theses
  is not permitted.
• 7. Citing student theses without a written
  permission from the author is not
• permitted.

• Parts of some records cant be exported to BORA
