COLLEGE VISITS
  • Students are allowed 3 college visits per
    semester.
  • College visits forms need to be filled out prior
    to the visit and signed by the students teacher,
    guardians, and guidance counselor.
  • Proof of the visit is required upon return and
    submitted to their guidance counselor.
  • Second semester visits are encouraged, to help
    finalize their college choice.

SAT REASONING TEST
  • Required by most schools
  • 3 scores Critical Reading (200-800) Math
    (200-800) and Writing (200-800).
  • Schools take the 3 highest scores of Math,
    Critical Reading and Writing to get the highest
    possible test score.
  • Generally, students take the test once during the
    Junior year and often take it again during the
    Senior year to improve scores.

SAT SUBJECT TEST
  • Many highly selective colleges require the SAT
    Subject Test for admission.
  • Cannot be taken the same day as the SAT Reasoning
    Test.
  • Check admissions materials or talk to someone in
    admissions to determine if the school requires
    specific subject test most criteria changed due
    to the fact that writing test is now part of the
    SAT Reasoning Test.
  • Scores range from 200-800

ACT TEST
  • Very popular in other sections of the country
  • Accepted by schools in this area in place of/or
    in addition to the SAT
  • Schools want ACT with Writing section
  • Test is aligned more closely to a high school
    curriculum
  • The scores are combined into one overall score
    (1-36)

TOEFLTest of English as a Foreign Language
  • The TOEFL Test (Test of English as a Foreign
    Language) measures the ability of nonnative
    speakers of English to use and understand English
    as it is spoken, written, and heard in college
    and university settings.
  • The TOEFL test is offered in different formats
    depending on a test taker's location.
