And now for the popular Mexican band, Mariachi!

• mah-ree-ah-AH-chay
• The name comes from a festival in honor of virgin
  called Maria H.
• Mariachi is believed to come from Spain a long
  time ago.
• Mariachi was banned from Spain and went to Mexico
  where its popularity grew and grew and now it is
  played almost all around the world.
• Some mariachi bands even play the song El
  Chupicabra.

• A Mariachi band consists of many instruments (at
  least from 5 to 10).
• Wearing the traditional Mexican hat, a sombrero,
  and Mexican clothing of course!
• Mariachi bands often play at fiestas, parades,
  and at Mexican restaurants.
• It takes a long time to learn the timing and
  rhythm with the music especially at those speeds!
• Mariachi music is also the most common music in
  Mexico.

  Cocula, Jalisco.
• Some of the instruments in mariachi are violins,
