The Avid Student Binder is one of many
Strategies for Success used in the AVID Program.

• Students keep a binder containing sections for
  each class they are taking.

• The binders are systematically organized to
  maximize student organization and learning in all
  classes.

Required Binder Contents

• Good quality 21/2 or 3 inch binder

• Colored Tab subject dividers to separate each
  class

• Zipper pouch to store supplies

• Notebook paper, Cornell note sheets

Suggested Binder Contents

• One or two trapper pouches (for paper with no
  holes punched in it).

• One or more highlighter pens

• Calculator

• Six- inch ruler

• AVID strategy sheets and note taking information.

Individual Classes

• Each teacher can customize their section of the
  binder to meet their needs.

• Dividers can be used for homework sections,
  notes, handouts, etc.

ALL Work for the class is in one place.
