  • 1st year is skills based learning

  • September/October - Drawing techniques (Line,
    shading, perspective, isometric)
  • Plus short tutorial based work using computer
    software including Page Plus,
  • Pro Desktop 3D modelling and 2D Design
    (Robocraft/master)
  • October December PROJECT 1 Print IT project
    Labelling, Graphic identity, web design
  • January April PROJECT 2 Magazine Cover and
    Stand Builds on tutorial work and project 1 and
    introduces manufacturing techniques (Laser
    cutting, vacuum forming and styrofoam modelling)
  • May July MAJOR PROJECT (Research) A project of
    your choice worth 60 of your GCSE. The project
    must have a clear problem/situation outlined and
    provide opportunity for 2D graphic design and a
    3D graphic product outcome. This project will
    continue in Year 11 until March

Project Work
Projects vary a great deal from year to year but
in order to achieve your potential there are
three key factors
A well researched problem and specification
Good development of designs into an achievable
product
A skillfully manufactured 3D model with
evaluations

Things you will need
  • A3 folder (vital)
  • Pencils 2B 6H preferably
  • Coloured pencils plus usual stationery
  • Software installed at home (optional)
  • Memory stick (optional)
  • Access to internet at home (helpful)
