• Present in PLANT cells, fungi cells, and bacteria
• Provides SUPPORT SHAPE
• Surrounds the cell membrane

• Serves as a BOUNDARY between the cell and the
  environment.
• Gives the cell shape and holds the cytoplasm.
• Controls the movement of materials in out of
  the cell
• Helps maintain a chemical balance within the cell

• Nucleus manages cell function
• Surrounded by nuclear membrane
• Contains DNA, genetic material
• Nucleolis site of RNA synthesis
• Found in the nucleus of eukaryotes

• Has large pores so materials can pass back and
  forth between the nucleus and the rest of the cell

• Chromatin long, tangled strands of genetic
  material
• Chromosome carries information that determines
  what traits a living thing will have
• Information passes from parents to offspring
• Located in the nucleus

• The Powerhouse of the cell

• Assemble proteins
• Not membrane-bound!
• Made of RNA protien
• Usually located on the Endoplasmic Reticulum

• Connects the nuclear membrane with the cell
  membrane
• A TRANSPORT SYSTEM within the cytoplasm
• Rough ER is coated with ribosomes

Golgi Apparatus

• Stack of flattened, membrane sacs that receives
  proteins lipids from the ER, then distributes
  them to the cell membrane other cell organelles
• These packages containing proteins lipids are
  vesicles

• Packages that contain proteins lipids
• Transport materials to where they are needed

Lysosome

• Contain digestive enzymes that digest old cell
  parts, food particles, and invading bacteria
  viruses

• Temporary storage for the cell
• Stores food, wastes, water, pigments, and other
  materials

• Chloroplast holds chlorophyll for the plant
• Chlorophyll a green pigment that traps sunlight
  during photosynthesis
• gives plants their color
