2Preparing files for Respondus upload
- Create a multiple choice test in your word
program with no more than 4 choices. Be sure
that if students must read material before
answering the questions that the text appears
after the number of the question. If the same
material is required for several questions, copy
the text. - Place an asterisk before the letter of the
correct choice. - Save the document in Word. This copy is for your
records. - Save the document as a plain text document. This
is the actual format required by Respondus.
3On the Start tab, click on Open or Create.
Click on Import Questions
4- Select Plain text format.
- Browse for the file
- Type in the new documents name.
- Ensure the type of file is Exam.
- Preview the test.
5Take note of Warnings and Notes. Items may need
attention in editing. Press Finish.
6On the Preview and Publish tab, click on Preview.
Then, click Preview the File.
7The program will revert to the Edit tab. Here,
you can read each question and selected correct
answer. You can make any revisions in the Modify
Item mode. Be sure to save the changes.
8Return to the Preview and Publish tab. Select
the Publish to ANGEL option.
1. In the Publish Wizard, select the proper
course from the drop-down menu. 2. The title
should match the one you typed in initially. 3.
Leave items in 3 as preset.
9Select the proper ANGEL server/courses. Click
Next.
10Click on files on your site to show Respondus the
proper page on which to publish the test. Follow
the wizard to complete.
11Go to your ANGEL course and the page on which the
test was published. In the tests Settings
Upload an icon if you wish. (The following
setting items on various tabs will help you make
the test secure.) On Access Select the day and
time for test availability. Be sure to check the
box next to the dates. On Delivery Select the
way the test will display, if you wish to
scramble the items, and set a time limit. On
Submission Select the number of times students
may take the test. On Review Deselect boxes
that do not apply to this test.
