History

• Began discussions with ITSC in October 1999
• Went into test/production mode in April 2004
• Once implemented, time lapse improved

• Sorting capabilities
• Automated scheduling for fact finding hearings
• Case assignment - balance the workload
• Increased timeliness of determinations
• Improved consistency in fact finding and
  determinations
• Improved quality of determinations
• On demand management reports

Lessons Learned

• Have a programmer on site during system
  development
• UI back ground saves time
• Better solution for scanned documents
• Be sure system design will handle multiple users
  
• Supervisory access should be built upon a
  hierarchy system

Wish we had

• The ability to create determination packets
  specific to selected documents
• Done something different with the Benefit Charge
  function
• The ability to have scheduling calendar work with
  Outlook calendar
• Created a better way to combine issues
  established on different days

Hardware/Software

• 2 Compaq Servers, 1 test, 1 production. 3GB Ram,
  130GB useable hard drive
• Running Windows 2000 SP4 and SQL server 2000 SP3
• 2 100MB Network Interface cards
• Daily database backup to 750GB Snap Appliance
  (Allows 3 weeks of daily backups)
• Client will run on Windows NT, Windows 2000, and
  XP with minor changes.
