- Berlin is the capital city.
At one time in history the city was divided by
the Berlin Wall.
9- In the center of Berlin is the Cathedral of
Kaiser Wilhelm which was badly damaged by bombs
during World War II. Its remains are a memorial
to those who survived.

10- Oberammergau is a small town in the Alps where
the buildings are painted with scenes.

11German Culture
- Music festivals are very popular. The biggest
festival is the Oktoberfest held in Munich. This
festival lasts for 16 days. People come from all
over the world to see the parades with costumes
and to eat German food. The Oktoberfest is like
our biggest fairs with lots of booths to buy
things and exciting carnival rides.
