  • My Website Design

2
  • The purpose of this assignment was to create a
    publicly accessible web page
  • This was achieved using XHTML
  • The page was written in Wordpad
  • The page had to be Validated
  • It had to be uploaded to the CSU Athene server
  • It can be accessed by going to http//athene.csu.e
    du.au/klivin02/

3
Audience
  • The intended audience of this site is only my
lecturer and fellow ITC105 students. I do not
wish to keep this a public web page after
    marking.
  • Therefore it is aimed at people who associate
with me, but do not know my basic history.
  • Fellow students and lecturers who know my face,
and perhaps my name could find out some basic
    knowledge of who I am.

4
Goals of site
  • The main goal of this site is to provide a brief
    history of Kerrie Livingston
  • If it raises interest in my past you can explore
where I have lived and worked
  • I aim to encourage the viewer to use the links to
other web pages to discover new parts of the
    world
  • Not to disclose any personal information that
    could be used against me.

5
Site Design
6
  • Entering the metadata and header details.

7
Meta Data and Image Problems
8
Content of England, France and USA pages
  • Each linked page included a large text heading
describing the area of interest on the page.
  • An image was chosen and incorporated into the
page depicting a scene mentioned on the page
  • A link was included on each page which would
entice the viewer to explore more about the
topic. This changes colour once visited.

9
Content of Index Page
  • The Index page incorporates large text, italics,
strong text and changes of text colour.
  • Links to my other pages were included.
  • The text for the link will change colour once it
    has been used.
  • Images were incorporated within a table for
    presentation.
  • All required information was included and
    Validation certificate added.

10
Layout of Index Page
  • My index page includes my name at the top to
identify my pages. This was centered to make it
    more attractive.
  • The course code was emphasised to assist
    identification.
  • All links were colour coded and underlined to
assist in identification, and encourages their
use. A goal of this site. The colour will change
    after use.
  • Images were aligned in a table with their
allocated headings. This helps with the
balancing of the screen and aesthetics of the
    page.

11
Layout of linked pages
  • The linked pages from my homepage all have
headings with a different font colour, which are
centered. This makes it easy for the user to
    identify where they are
  • The image appears before above and to the left of
the text. This is aesthetically pleasing to me.
  • Links are colored differently to other text and
change once they have been used, to help the
    user.

12
Function of Index page
  • My index page is designed to attract the viewers
attention and encourage the viewer to explore my
    pages further.
  • Images are labeled to indicate what the are and
if they dont load, they are labled.
  • Provide information about myself, presented in a
    pleasing manner.
  • The layout should appear simple and easy to use.

13
Function of linked pages
  • The linked pages were created in order to present
detailed information on a few aspects of my life.
  • They provide links for the viewer to access more
detailed information on the geographical areas
mentioned, or events. Addressing one of the goals
    of the site.
  • The utelise the same colour scheme and fonts so
the viewer can clearly recognise that they are
part of the same set of pages from the same
    author.
