    scheme benefits their sporting performance

  • Progress Liam Tancock (TASS 04/05)- 3rd at
    Swimming World Championships 05 in Montreal now
    progressed onto World Class funding
  • Succeed At World University Winter Games in
    July, TASS athletes achieved first (Shelley
    Rudman) and second (Amy Williams) in Bob Skeleton
  • Partnerships RFUW England training camp at
    Worcester university
  • HE/FE Infrastructure Working with the UK
    Strength Conditioning Association

TASS YEAR 2 - Priorities

  • Monitoring and evaluation
  • Enable HE/FE to access TASS staff to assist with
    HE/FE development. (particularly with admin and
    finance of the programme).

Additional Athlete Support Funds
  • Additional Athlete Support Fund (AAS Fund)
  • Hardship
  • To disability athletes for carers and education

  • Access to Learning Fund (ALF) scholars only
  • Generic DfES fund for students with financial
    difficulties special condition for TASS athletes
    to ensure not unfairly penalised

Competition and Training Fund
  • To TASS athletes who excel during the year who
    have been selected to represent GB (or home
    nation for England governed sports)
  • Funding for competitions not already in SLA.
  • Up to 500 a year.

Coaching Scholarships
  • Pilot Scheme
  • Up to 6 scholarships up to the value of 3000.
  • Must be a TASS HE where the scholar can study
    academically and to be a performance coach.

Research Scholarships
  • Pilot scheme
  • 6 research scholarships to the value of 3000.
  • Partnership between HE, NGB and researcher.
  • Projects should address development of technical
    performance or equipment, or support structures.

  • NGB Framework - agreed by Sport England and TASS
    - athlete selection criteria
  • NGB nominations - Nomination Form Service Level
    Request (SLR)
  • Athletes agreed by TASS - athlete eligibility
  • NGB HE discuss SLR and agree Service Level
    Agreement (SLA) Operations Event
  • Athletes confirmed, athlete letter, athlete
    agreement sent and signed
  • During first meeting institution to discuss SLA
    with athlete
