The Latest...
Literacy Literacy this month includes two weeks
of Sharing Stories then two weeks of
Kindness. Please feel free to send in
information or pictures about kindness that you
can find around your house! Students will be
learning how to make connections, predict,
compare and contrast, and summarize. We will
also be continuing Writers Workshop.
Math During math this month students will be
working on 100s charts, money, venn diagrams,
temperature, even/odd numbers, and place value.
Science Weather! We will discover types of
clouds, and review disasterous weather phenomena.
Spiders and pumpkins will also be part of the
curriculum this month.
Social Studies October social studies includes
Columbus Day information, as well as living in a
community. Students are learning that they are
citizens of Huntersville, North Carolina, USA,
North America, Earth, and the Milky Way!
ASK ME??? Try asking your child some of these
questions when they tell you that they did
nothing at school today You are a citizen of
many places, what are they? Skip count by 5s
all the way to 100 for me. Make a connection from
your life to the story in Open Court this week!
