  • Students develop awareness that high school

  • Students have the best preparation for their
    post-secondary options

    requirements
  • The law requires us to complete a 4-year plan

  • Preparatory course work in the Core areas of

  • All Benton students complete coursework in the

Block Schedule
  • Each class meets 85 minutes per day
  • Courses that normally would meet for a year- meet
    for ½ the year
  • Course that would meet for ½ the year, meet for 1
    quarter
  • Student can take up to 16 blocks per year

How to Help
  • Discuss Post High School Plans
  • College, Apprenticeships, Military, Work
  • Help them to choose classes to achieve those
    goals
  • Stay in touch about classes, grades, and homework
  • Communicate with teachers

Registration
  • Registration on Thursday January 29, 2009
  • Students must turn in a signed 4-year plan
  • Sign only under the freshman year
  • Students will indicate course choices from their
    plan on the official registration sheet
  • Students will also write 2 alternative courses on
    their registration sheets
  • Counselors will collect signed 4-year plan and
    registration sheet
