Description The spider is black and has claws
that are curled. They are recognized by their
long fangs , they can also be different sizes.
Habitat Most of these spiders live in fearful
lives buried deep in holes. They dig holes up to
50 cm. deep.
Interesting Facts Mating takes place in the tube
and in the spiders stay together for several
months. Then the male dies eaten by the female.
The females may live up to eight years.
Spiderlings take a year to become full-grown and
four years to reach maturity. Purse web spiders
are related to funnel web spiders and tarantulas.
Webs and prey It waits inside the purse web in
till an insect steps on the purse web and when it
does the spider rushes up and bites through the
silk purse web pulls it through the silk and eats.
