- Course length 80 hours (approx)
- About 16 weeks duration
- 20 hours instructor-led classroom activities
- Tutorial-type sessions, discussions

- Suggestion 50/50 work/own time study
13Course Organisation
- Classroom activities in single company-wide group
- Assigned NCI tutor will lead 1 weekly/fortnightly
class - Each companys' learners will be a separate online
'class' in the LMS - In-class online discussions between learners
- NCI tutor available for queries and support
(daily)
14Course Assessment
- Continuous assessment
- automatically assessed by LMS, by monitoring
usage by learner - (80 of material should be viewed)
- End-of-module assessment
- via formal online testing
- Project work and participation
- e.g. Contributions to discussions, etc.
15Certification Graduation
- Grades awarded
- Distinction (gt70), Merit 1/2, Pass (gt40)
- One or more of the following, at the discretion
of the company and learner - Formal graduation ceremony at NCI
- HETAC-accredited Certificate
- Subject to approval
- Graduation in-company
16HETAC Certification
- KESP curriculum submitted for accreditation
- Formal review in November 2006
- Course is at NFQ Level 6
- Special Award status, as course is shorter than a
normal Certificate course - Some risk that approval will not be given before
pilot begins
