Level 3 Missing ETPlans for Improvements

Level 3 Missing ET Studies
  • Used p13.06.01 version of d0trigsim and l3fCalMEt
  • Almost ran out of the box Had to remove
    unpackers/muons from toollist
  • Default for offline trigger list CalMEt_PvtxZ
    uses CAL_UNP_NADA
  • Default L3TCalMEt.rcp UseCHTRUE
  • Runs analyzed
  • Used the two runs for p13 certification
    comparisons
  • 170246 (p12) and 170247 (p13)
  • These are BAD runs based on Jet/Met run list!
  • Shift-xy6.41 GeV for 170246, 5.64 GeV for 170247
  • Pulled raw files (parts 1 and 4 for each run)
    from SAM
  • Ran over 2000 events for each run.
  • Used a GOOD run from same period for comparison
  • Run 170277
  • Shift-xy0.57 GeV
  • Will compare results with L3Nada on/off and CH
    on/off
  • When L3Nada is on, L3NadaThreshold 3.0001
  • L3Nada off gt Changing to CAL_UNP tool instance
  • Both CAL_UNP and CAL_UNP_NADA have calib0 (No
    calorimeter non-linearity corrections in this
    study.)
  • EtaMax 3.7 in L3TCalMEt.rcp

On hold until SAM problems are fixed!

  • No, I do not have the labels backwards!
  • Problems with NADA differentiating hot and warm
    regions (see below)

NADA Quantities Offline
VETNADA is missingET contribution from NADA cells
Scalar sum of NADA cell energies shows a
significant negative contribution

Other Work Ongoing
  • Testing new results class for L3TCalMEt and
    L3TJetMEt
  • Finish development work on L3TJetMEt
  • Assistance would be appreciated
  • Mostly need someone to run the tool over
    interesting data sets and test triggers
  • Continue tests on L3TCalMEt
  • More tests of L3NADA on good/bad runs
  • Test calib (non-linearity corrections) and UseCH.
