Two developments started the UvA Sakai work

• The portfolio project of the UvA (2004, early
  2005) needed a replacement of the tool provided
  by the Digital University
• gtgt In 2005 OSP was the first choice for a pilot
  project
• First UvA Quickscan of the Sakai environment,
  presentation on the SURF 2004 Education days
  gtgt the kick-off of the UvA-SURF Sakai cooperation

• In 2005 2006 several pilots have been conducted
  with Sakai OSPThe scope of pilots was to test
  the functional and technical abilities of the
  products
• UvA SURF cooperation (2005 2006) Monitoring
  SakaiIn 2007 Sakai will be thoroughly analysed

• OSP 2.2 educational pilots
• In January 2007 an OSP production environment.
• A series of round table discussions with students
  teachers on their needs and expectations on the
  future of the e-learning landscape of the
• Intensive involvement in the Sakai/OSP community

Conclusions

• The University of Amsterdam has a good working
  knowledge of the Sakai OSP software
• Monitoring of Sakai is a joined project with the
  SURF Foundation
• Active involvement in the Sakai Community
• The main target of 2006 is a production
  implementation of OSP 2.2
