2Jews within Nazi occupied Europe were put into
walled-off areas called ghettos. The walls were
very high with barbed wire on the top. Once
inside it was very difficult to get out without
permission. Conditions within the ghettos were
awful and many people starved to death or were
struck down by illness.

We should never forget what happened to these
brave people. This was a terrible time and one
that we should all be aware of so that nothing
like it ever happens again.
