    three fiscal years (2005/6-2007-) continue to
    grow this year resulting in longer processing
    times
  • To reduce processing times increase capacity we
    have

    efficiencies
  • Set out more stringent requirements on complete
    applications (60 of applications received were
    incomplete)

Skilled Workers Criteria

Eligibility Skilled Worker
  • Confirmed offer of permanent, full-time
    employment with a Saskatchewan employer
  • Job offer in an occupation or trade in the NOC
    level A, B, 0 or a designated trade in
    SaskatchewanOccupations included in the NOC
    level A and B usually require university,
    college or technical school education or
    apprenticeship training. NOC level O are
    management positions

    awarded on the basis of 8 factors

Family Members Criteria

Family Members Category
  • Immigrant families living in Saskatchewan can
    help their family members live and work in the
    province
  • All applicants must have an economically
    self-sufficient supporting family member in
    Saskatchewan for at least one year

Eligibility Family Members
  • Between 18 49 years old.
  • Have a family member who is a Saskatchewan
    resident willing to help you move to the
    province.
  • Post-secondary education (have a diploma, a
    certificate, or a degree)
  • One year of work experience in your field of
    education or training

  • Sufficient English language ability to work in
    Saskatchewan.
  • Sufficient economic resources
  • Have a full-time, permanent job offer or
  • Enough money to live in the province for a short
    time without work after arrival (10,000 for you
    and 2,000 for each accompanying family member)

Community Partnerships Settlement Unit (CPS)
  • Mandate
  • Ensure immigrant newcomers to Saskatchewan
    experience positive settlement outcomes, at home
    and at work
  • Develop community capacity building programs to
    welcome and retain immigrant newcomers
  • Enhance provincial capacity to integrate
    immigrants into regulated occupations in
    Saskatchewan

Settlement of Immigrant Newcomers
  • Before immigrant newcomers arrive to your area
  • The local community immigration settlement
    committee, in partnership with CPS, works to
    plan, facilitate, and support newcomer arrival
    settlement in your area

Settlement Programs for Immigrants
  • After arrival of newcomers dependants
  • Together, community immigration settlement
    committee, employers, and CPS address settlement
    integration needs (meet greet, language,
    accommodation, orientation, school, work,
    community services)
