SPEAKING IS A NATURAL EXPRESSION OF FAITH

• The Bible connects closely the heart the mouth
  (Matthew 1234)
• What comes from the mouth reveals whats in the
  heart
• We have a saying to learn by heart
• Gods word can become etched in our heart.
• Faith takes its stand on facts

WE NEED TO PERSIST IN OUR CONFESSION

• The practise of confession is effective can
  become powerful
• This is not the power of positive thinking

FIVE SAFEGUARDS

• Approach God in the right attitude
• Keep your confession of faith within the limits
  of Gods word
• Depend upon the leading of the Holy Spirit
• Rely upon His grace
• Evaluate correctly the evidence of your own senses

CONFESSION

• Confession is not just relative to sins
  salvation is not limited to our sins having been
  forgiven
• In the New Testament the same truth applies
• Pauls confession is important (2 Tim 418)

FEELING CONDEMNED?

• Romans 81
• There is therefore no condemnation for those who
  are in Christ Jesus
• On the basis of this scripture I confess that I
  am in Christ so not under condemnation

FEELING UNWORTHY?

• Romans 58
• But God shows His love to us in that while we
  were yet sinners Christ died for us
• On the basis of this scripture we make our
  confession of worthiness

FEELING UNCERTAIN?

• 1 John 416
• And we have come to know believed the love that
  God has for us
• On the basis of this scripture I make my
  confession of certainty

HEBREWS 1021-24

• The connection between Christs High Priesthood
  our confession
• Verse 22 relates to God
• Verse 23 relates to self
• Verse 24 relates to fellow believers
• We must never be dependant solely upon our
  feelings!!!
