What is the PEO?
  • Mandate
  • Administers and enforces the Professional
    Engineers Act of Ontario
  • Sets the standards of practice for professional
    Engineering in Ontario
  • Licenses disciplines Engineers Engineering
    firms, including control of the use of titles
    such as Engineer, P.Eng., Consulting Engineer
  • Works to ensure the public interest may be served
    and protected

Steps to Licensing
  • Canadian Citizen of good character who is 18
    years of age or older
  • Meet minimum education requirements
  • Four years engineering work experience
  • Minimum 12 months must be in Canada under the
    supervision of a P. Eng
  • Up to 12 months experience can be obtained from a
    post-graduate degree
  • Successful completion of Professional Practice
    Exam

Pre-Graduation Experience

    engineering undergraduate degree
  • It must be seen as a stepping stone to ones
    professional development

  • Can attend PEO chapter meetings
